World AIDS Day, 2022

World AIDS Day began in 1988. Quoting from usembassy, the concept of World AIDS Day originated from the 1988 World Ministers of Health Summit. At that time, he was running an AIDS prevention program for the world community.

From this meeting, international organizations around the world agreed on AIDS Day every December 1st. The Minister of Health considers this an important moment to honor people who have died from HIV/AIDS.

In 1995, the President of the United States of America declared World AIDS Day December 1. Then, in 2005, the United Nations Program on HIV/AIDS (UNAIDS) became the pioneer of the World AIDS Day campaign. This organization is tasked with selecting the annual theme for World AIDS Day December 1.

Before choosing a theme, they consulted with other global health organizations. However, this task was turned over to the World AIDS Campaign (WAC) in 2005.
